This semester in art class I learned a bunch of new techniques. Like how to slip and score clay to make it stay together. I had a great time in art class this semester. My favorite project this year was the pinch pot. It was very fun making a snowman out of clay. I say my biggest success was my snowman.

On my snowman that I made, only that black color made it out of the keln so my snowman looks a bit messed up. His nose is supposed to be orange and his scarf is supposed to be red. It's okay though since he didn't explode in the keln. I had to wipe off the glaze on the bottom of my snowman so it didn't get stuck. I think I glazing the snowman was a fun project I wish it would've turned out better.

So far with my clay experience in art class, I have had to make a clay box. Making a box out of clay can be hard and difficult.   So my art teacher showed me how to put a successful box together. First off you roll some clay out to the thickness you want for your sides.  Next you get a note card and trace cut it five times in five different places to make five notecard sized slabs of clay. To make sure the walls stay together, cut the edges off at a 45 degree angle, score them, slip them then stick them  together.

To keep my box intact I cut the edges off at a 45 degree angle scored, then slipped them and stuck them together. I don't know what I plan to do with the box. Making it was more difficult but I understood

My bisque piece came out fine and didn't explode. I correctly made it to where it wouldn't explode but, I needed to smooth it out to where it waw

I can create a project of uniform thickness.  Join clay by scoring and slipping.  Have a form that has visual interest on all sides.  Add and subtract clay to make a 3D design.  I think that this project was fun and interesting.
